SKYE & HIGHLAND / 05 Day Itinerary

Destination: Iceland

IMPORTANT: Please be aware that until the end of October, your journey will begin with a stay at Lochside Hostel by Loch Ness, rather than Inverness as previously stated. Kickstart your adventure by crossing the famed Forth Bridges, followed by an enchanting forest walk. Dive into the Highlands’ rich history and stunning landscapes, capped by a refreshing (if optimistic!) dip in Loch Ness on the lookout for Nessie. Our day concludes as we head towards the cultural hub of Inverness, exploring landmarks like Forth Bridges, Dunkeld, Hermitage/Killiecrankie, Culloden, and Clava Cairns along the way.

Our adventure unfolds as we head West, traversing Corrieshalloch Gorge, admiring Torridon’s ancient peaks, and then making our way across to the enchanting Isle of Skye. Highlights include Rogie Falls, Kinlochewe, the iconic Eilean Donan Castle, and Kyleakin.

Experience a day immersed in Skye’s breathtaking landscapes, enriched by your guide’s tales of local legends. Our adventure prioritizes exploring on foot, leading us to some of the island’s most iconic geological wonders. Prepare to be astonished by the vistas! A day filled with inspiration awaits on the Isle of Skye, featuring highlights such as Sligachan, the Cuillin Ridge, Portree, The Old Man of Storr, Kilt Rock, Quiraing, the Faerie Pools, and Kyleakin.

Bidding farewell to Skye, we embark on a ferry ride off the island (available only in summer), making our way to the iconic Glenfinnan Viaduct, famed for Harry Potter and the memorial of Bonnie Prince Charlie. Our journey leads us towards Fort William, capturing the breathtaking views of Glen Coe, a site of historical significance, and then proceeding to Oban. Key stops include Armadale, Sands of Morar, and Glenfinnan Viaduct, with the trip concluding in Oban from April to October. Note: In the winter months (November to March), the tour concludes in Fort William, omitting the visit to Oban.

On our last day, we journey through Argyll to the Trossachs National Park, spotting a Hairy Coo along the way! We’ll traverse the core of William Wallace’s territory, learning about Scotland’s battle for freedom, before returning to Edinburgh for heartfelt goodbyes. Highlights include St. Conan’s Kirk, Kilchurn Castle (summer only), Callander, Doune Castle, Wallace Monument, and Bannockburn Battlefield. Remember, the itinerary is flexible! Our guide might adjust the plan based on the weather and enhance your Scottish adventure.
