 Day 01: On Monday morning, we depart Cape Town for Hermanus, with early pick-ups for shark cage diving clients. Along the scenic coastal road, we stop at Betties Bay to see African penguins. Spend the afternoon in Hermanus, renowned for Southern Right Whales (July to November). Later, head to Cape Agulhas, the southernmost tip of Africa, and visit the viewpoint where the Indian and Atlantic Oceans meet.

Day 02: We’ll journey to Oudtshoorn, the Ostrich Capital, via the scenic Route 62, South Africa’s longest wine route. Enjoy lunch and wine tasting at a local winery. Our accommodation is on a game farm in the Little Karoo. Explore the ostrich farm with sunset views of Outeniqua and Swartberg mountains.

Travel: Cape Agulhas – Route 62 – Oudtshoorn: +/- 330km, +/- 4 hours
Overnight: Oudtshoorn

Day 03: After breakfast, we’ll traverse the stunning Outeniqua Mountain pass and embark on a canoe exploration of Wilderness National Park along the Touw River. Paddle through indigenous forest, spotting diverse birdlife. After 40 minutes, leave the canoes for a 2 km hike on a boardwalk to a beautiful waterfall and rock pools. In the late afternoon, explore Sedgefield with its scenic views and beaches.

Day 04: Today, we’ll explore Knysna via the scenic Lake District of the Garden Route, taking in the stunning Knysna Heads viewpoint and the world’s highest bungee jump at Bloukrans Bridge. Afterward, we’ll enjoy Tsitsikamma National Park’s unique blend of forest and coastline. In the afternoon, we’ll head to Addo for a Big 5 safari.

Overnight: Avoca River Cabins, Addo area

Day 05: In the morning, we’ll explore Addo Elephant National Park, a vast reserve with 600 elephants and various other wildlife. After the game viewing, we’ll return to the Garden Route, staying overnight in Wilderness or Sedgefield. Meals are not included.

Activities included: Entrance and 2-3 hour drive in tour vehicle through Addo Elephant National Park.
Optional: 2-hour open vehicle game drive with Addo field guide (R460).
Travel: Addo to Wilderness is approximately 415 km, taking about 5 hours.

Day 06: After breakfast, explore Mossel Bay’s stunning beaches, trek the Cape St. Blaize trail with cliffs overlooking the Indian Ocean, or visit the Diaz Museum. Adventurous options include a 10,000-foot tandem skydive or sandboarding on South Africa’s longest dune. Return to Cape Town in the early evening.
