Plan My Gap Year
Day 01: Greetings in India! Upon your arrival at Indira Gandhi International Airport, a friendly face from our local team or one of our designated drivers will be there to welcome you with a personalized sign. They’ll swiftly escort you to our Volunteer House, located approximately 40 miles away, with travel time varying from 45 minutes to 2 hours, depending on traffic.
The remainder of the day is laid-back, accommodating volunteers arriving at different times. It’s an ideal chance to relax, connect with your group, and acquaint yourself with your accommodation.
Day 02: Following a rejuvenating night’s sleep in India, it’s time to embark on your introduction to life in this vibrant country. Your orientation will encompass a blend of theoretical insights, cultural exploration, and visits to intriguing local landmarks.
Day 03 – 06: Embark on your volunteer journey this Tuesday, immersing yourself in the project. Initial days involve learning the ropes and connecting with project members. As the week progresses, your role evolves, and our local coordinators provide unwavering support. Expect to volunteer 3 to 5 hours daily, mainly in the morning, with the option to explore multiple projects. Spice up your evenings with cultural activities like a Bollywood dance class (200 Rupees), a cooking class (300 Rupees), or a Yoga session (200 Rupees) arranged by our enthusiastic local team.
Day 07 – 08: Endless possibilities await! Explore the iconic Taj Mahal, immerse yourself in the charm of New & Old Delhi, or embark on an unforgettable elephant ride in Jaipur, India’s vibrant pink city. With PMGY attracting numerous volunteers to India, you’ll easily find travel companions for weekend adventures. Our local team is ready to help organize your desired trips.

Day 09 – 13: Embrace the upcoming week as it unfolds with a familiar rhythm, dedicating your time to volunteer from Monday to Friday. Make every moment count, as our local team stands ready to assist you throughout your stay. Whether you encounter challenges like a misplaced passport, seek advice for weekend adventures, or simply need a friendly conversation, they are here to support you.
Day 14: Your final day with PMGY is on Sunday. If you’re heading home, we’re here to assist with arranging your airport drop-off. Kindly be aware that this service is not part of your Program Fee.
