Upon touchdown, our team will warmly welcome you and whisk you away to a comfortable hotel included in your package. With the day ahead, roam this lively port city and activity-packed haven. Dive into local lore and fauna at the captivating Museo del Fin del Mundo. Should you crave adventure, explore Tierra del Fuego National Park or spot wildlife in the Beagle Channel. As evening falls, indulge in Patagonian lamb or fresh Fuegian seafood at one of Ushuaia’s many dining spots.
Day 02: Following breakfast at your hotel, embrace the morning in Ushuaia. Stroll along the charming waterfront, taking in vistas of the snow-topped Martial Range, the southernmost Andean peaks. Seize the opportunity for souvenir shopping or picking up cold-weather essentials. Note that you’ll soon receive your own parka and waterproof boots for the voyage. For lunch, explore the variety of cafés, grills, and gelato spots along Avenida San Martín. In the afternoon, you’ll be transported to the pier, where you’ll be warmly welcomed aboard the deluxe expedition vessel M/V Sea Spirit. Settle into your spacious suite and acquaint yourself with the ship, your cozy abode for the upcoming adventure. As we set sail, informative briefings and staff introductions mark the beginning of a packed schedule of events. Following a delectable dinner, step onto the open decks to marvel at the breathtaking scenery and evening light as we navigate the Beagle Channel.
Day 03 – 04: After navigating past Tierra del Fuego’s islands, our journey veers southward, embarking on the Drake Passage. En route, we eagerly spot humpback and fin whales. Amidst these waters, the majestic wandering albatross and other graceful subantarctic seabirds grace our view from expansive decks and balconies. Crossing the Antarctic Convergence marks the biological shift into the Southern Ocean. Should rough seas arise, the ship’s stabilizing fins ensure comfort. Our lecture staff provides briefings, bio-security protocols, and informative presentations, priming you for Antarctica’s arrival. Anticipate reaching the South Shetland Islands by the second evening at sea.
Day 05 – 12: In the coming days, we embark on an extensive journey through the South Shetland Islands and the Antarctic Peninsula, renowned for their breathtaking landscapes and unparalleled wildlife encounters. Sparkling bays and ice-covered peaks create a mesmerizing backdrop, while abundant marine life thrives in krill-rich waters. Penguin rookeries dot the land, alongside research bases from various nations. Our exploration begins with the captivating South Shetland Islands before delving into the pristine Gerlache Strait, home to towering icebergs and vibrant penguin colonies. We aim to traverse the famed Lemaire Channel, known for its picturesque scenery. Venturing farther south, we’ll brave the austere landscapes of Crystal Sound, a region rarely visited by humans. Amidst this wild environment, gentoo, chinstrap, and Adélie penguins thrive alongside seals and whales. For adventurous souls, kayaking offers a unique perspective, while camping ashore provides an intimate connection with Antarctica’s untamed beauty. Day 13 – 14: As we journey back across the Drake Passage towards South America, our adventure continues with seabirds accompanying us and the chance of encountering whales in these untamed waters. Festivities await us, including the Captain’s Farewell Cocktail and the voyage slideshow. As we glide into the serene Beagle Channel, we embrace a tranquil night sailing towards Ushuaia.
