Embarking on our Laugavegur adventure, we drive 3-4 hours to Landmannalaugar, passing the South Coast and legendary Hekla volcano. Our trek from Landmannalaugar explores the Laugahraun lava field, Vondugil canyon, and vibrant Mt. Brennisteinsalda. Highlights include the Graenagil gorge and a potential climb to Blahnukar Volcano. The first night in Landmannalaugar offers serenity and a delightful dinner amidst Icelandic beauty

Day 02: Hiking: 24 km (14.9 mi)
Walking time: 7-8 hrs
Ascent: 900 m (2952 ft).

Day two starts with a hearty breakfast for our trek to Hrafntinnusker, a black obsidian desert with the Stórihver hot spring. Marvel at the vibrant Reykjafjöll rhyolite mountains and the geothermal hues of Jökultungur. The top offers breathtaking views of Fjallabak and Álftavatn. Crossing a river on foot adds a unique experience. After a day of exploration, a delightful dinner awaits, surrounded by the beauty of the evening vistas.

Day 03: Distance: 15 km (9.5 mi)
Walking time: 6-7 hrs
Descent: 40 m (130 ft).

After a restful night and a hearty breakfast, we start by crossing a stream towards Mælifellssandur, passing Stórasúla and Hattafell volcanoes on the way to Emstrur. If weather permits, catch remarkable views of Mýrdalsjökull and Eyjafjallajökull, notorious for the 2010 ash cloud. Heading to Botnar, a green oasis in a black sand desert, we’ll admire Markarfljótsgljúfur, a stunning 200m canyon. Our mountain hut in this area offers a scenic backdrop for a final dinner together.

Day 04: Distance: 15km (9.5 mi)
Walking time: 6-7 hrs
Descent: 300 m (985 ft).

After breakfast, we’ll trek from Emstrur to Þórsmörk, enjoying glacier views and passing through Almenningar, a charming gorge by Mount Einhyrningur. Approaching Þórsmörk, the landscape transforms, featuring scattered trees and the iconic dense birch forest. Here, you’ll celebrate completing the renowned Laugavegur Trail. On our way back to Reykjavík, catch a glimpse of the stunning Seljalandsfoss waterfall. We’ll arrive in Reykjavik around 21:30, with drop-off at the BSI bus stop.
